Tanya Escudero

Research Fellow in Translation Studies and Senior Adviser in Doctoral Studies, Tallinn University

In my research, I work at the intersection between translation and migration. My focus is on exploring how translation policies and practices can foster the inclusion of migrant communities in their host country.

I am also invested in supporting other researchers, especially early-career researchers, in navigating academia, gaining skills and making an impact with their research.

My goals

Research to understand the role of translation in migrant inclusion

My current projects study the narratives on migration created by news translators, as well as their impact on their audience, and the best practices for improving communication with linguistic minorities in crisis settings.
