Tanya Escudero
Research Fellow in Translation Studies, Senior Adviser of Doctoral Studies and Research Funding Consultant
I am a researcher at Tallinn University working at the intersection of translation, migration and multilingual communication. My research explores how translation policies and communication practices shape inclusion, access to information and participation in society.
Alongside my research, I support researchers and institutions in grant proposal development, research capacity building and researcher development. Through training, consultancy and international projects, I work to stregthen research environments and support researchers at different stages of their careers.
My goals
Research to understand the role of translation in integrating migrants
My current projects study the narratives on migration created by news translators, as well as their impact on their audience, and best practices for improving communication with migrants in crisis situations.
